What types of trolley do you find in nurseries?
Nursery trolleys are the Swiss-Army knife of garden centres. They enhance efficiency and productivity by meeting the demands and unique needs of daily operations. If you've ever worked at or visited a commercial nursery, greenhouse, or garden centre, you'll have seen trolleys being used for all kinds of tasks; the most typical being customers carrying products and plants to the checkout. Watching the staff, however, and without a doubt you'll have seen them shifting dozens of heavy bags, boxes of cumbersome stock, oddly-shaped products (think: bird-baths and water fountains), and everything in between.
And unsurprisingly, with so many specific requirements, there's a trolley for every job.
Flatbed trolleys – the workhorse of nursery trolleys
With a simple open platform, their high-quality, durable construction, ease of manoeuvrability, strength, and solid rubber or pneumatic tyres make them the top choice for daily use. With a low platform, they make loading a breeze, even with the heaviest items.
Platform trolleys – all the muscle with safer storage
Platform trolleys are a close relative of the flatbed, only they're manufactured with raised rails to keep their contents from sliding off or falling over the sides.
Shelf trolleys – multi-tiered and multi-purpose
With low and high shelves, shelf trolleys protect their contents with the option of separating fragile items from bigger, bulkier ones. Without having to stack delicate items, everything is protected, and with their raised sides, there's far less chance of dropping anything.
Danish trolleys – distribution and display all in one
Considered 'the' nursery plant trolley, it's the most efficient and effective way to display and transport large quantities of plants, trays of shrubs, and flowers. Why? This tall, tiered, high-capacity, rolling shelf system was designed with durability in mind, transporting plants while still providing incredible access and visibility. Danish trolleys are iconic in nurseries, regularly used as retail shelving, yet quick and easy to move from one end of the premises to the other.
