Garden Trolleys & Carts: FAQs
What makes garden centre trolleys different?
Each type of trolley is designed for a specific task: whether that's moving heavy loads, carefully transporting delicate items, or ensuring everything on your trolley stays put, there's an ideal trolley for every job.
Which garden carts and trolleys are best for outdoor use?
All of our garden centre trolleys are made from weatherproof materials, ensuring they provide years of trouble-free use - inside or out.
What's the narrowest aisle a garden trolley cart will fit through?
We have wheeled garden trolleys as narrow as 500mm - that's less than 2ft wide. All our garden centre trolleys are easy to manoeuvre, so no matter how narrow your greenhouse or garden paths are, we have a trolley for them.
How much can garden centre trolleys safely carry?
Each garden metal trolley has a recommended load weight. A flatbed option is usually the strongest heavy-duty garden trolley, with some models capable of moving loads up to 500kg.

Yes - any of the trolleys with angled shelves are ideal for transporting trays.
What’s the difference between a garden trolley and a balance trolley?
Although both are regarded as garden centre trolleys, garden trolleys usually have a lower capacity, making them better suited for smaller loads. A balance trolley - also available in low-capacity models - features a single central wheel or double side-by-side wheels, with legs at each end to keep the trolley stable when stationary.
Can garden metal trolleys be used on grass or gravel?
Yes! While most trolleys have large wheels, made from solid rubber or with pneumatic tyres, allowing them to roll easily over all types of rough surfaces.
What is the best heavy-duty garden trolley for rough terrain?
Look for a rugged garden trolley cart with a high-load capacity, raised sides, and large pneumatic tyres. They’ll roll over the roughest terrain, keep their contents secure, and handle the largest loads, too.
